ALL ABOUT MOI
I was born in Sudbury,
My family is from
My heritage is Bajan,
Mi’kmaw and Dutch.
My work is a continued investigation of
self; my desire is to create an aesthetic paradox.
My photographs are most successful I
feel when they kindle a sense of perplexed curiosity.
I employ a visual narrative style,
giving the viewer the choice to “read” into the picture, or “look” at the
picture.
I invite the viewer into my life, yet in
very small steps. I like the idea of presenting something public,
yet
private. I follow my instincts
faithfully, so that one day I will be rewarded with the answer
to my existence.
I am a graduate of Ontario
College of art and design in Toronto ,
My major was fine art photography. If
you wish you can view the rest of my work here.
I am currently continuing my education
at Humber College
in Social work.
My goal is to
touch the social work field in two ways. Principally I would like to empower
people who
are struggling with
their current life situations. I would do this by providing appropriate
assistance in
a conscientious and
open minded manner. Second, as a continuum, I would like to introduce fine art
photography to the
social work field. This medium of art will create visual metaphoric voices for
involved
individuals. Engaging these people to share,
educate and be heard through the eye of the lens, will also help break
some of the silences that exist among people
who experience homelessness.
I have embarked
on a Raw Vegan lifestyle very recently. I find this journey to be scary yet
refreshingly simple.
The changes I
have seen in my body are remarkable. I have lost my voice as a result of acid
reflux, and after a month of eating Raw vegan,
it has returned. I
also have a blood pressure of 100/70 and have lost 50 pounds to date.
